Maharashtra Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Milind Deora has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into Rs 12,000 crore spent by Mumbai's civic body on road works between 2017 and 2022.
In a reprieve to Jayalalithaa, a Commission of Inquiry has cleared the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief of land grab charges but indicted relatives of her close aide Sasikala for "glaring abuse of power" to obtain a title deed.
The Maharashtra government has given its consent to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to conduct an inquiry into corruption charges against senior minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
"The accused was nabbed on Thursday night from Davanagere with the help of the Railway Police. He has been arrested in connection with the case," Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar said.

Army sources said the CoI has been given one month's time to complete the probe.
